"Eclair" rolls out after two week delay

Sprint has released the Android 2.1 update for its HTC Hero smartphone. Android 2.1 gives the HTC Hero the voice recognition feature that made its debut on the Motorola Droid last November. Other improvements include enhancements to the HTC Sense interface, full access to Android Market, and better integration with corporate email systems. A number of bug fixes also are addressed.

Sprint had planned to roll out the upgrade earlier in the month, but delayed implementation for unspecified reasons.
