HP Envy 17, new Pavilion notebooks start shipping

Envy 17 prices start at $1400 with Core i5


HP has begun shipping its flagship Envy 17 notebook, along with several new Pavilion models. The 17-inch Envy 17 starts at $1,400 for the 2.26GHz Core i5-based configuration with 4GB of RAM, a 320GB HDD and Radion HD 5850 graphics.

HP's recommended package for the Envy 17, which costs $2,150, steps up to a 2.6GHz Core i7 CPU, 6GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive. The basic configurations integrate a 1600x900 display, while customers can also choose a 1920x1080 option for $100 more.

The entry-level Pavilion dm4t offers a 14-inch display and Core i5 CPU for $730, with Core i7 components available as upgrade options. The dv5t features similar specs and a 14.5-inch LCD, with prices starting at $800. The dv6t steps up to a 15.6-inch LCD for $700, while the dv7t integrates a 17.3-inch LCD and Core i3 CPU for $850.
