Handset selling locally for €429

Samsung has launched its Wave smartphone slightly ahead of schedule in Germany. Local customers can pick up Samsung's first Bada handset for 429 Euros (~$545 USD) unlocked. The device features a 3.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with 800x480 resolution, a 1GHz CPU, five-megapixel camera with 720p video recording, and Bluetooth 3.0.

The new UI will support up to 10 home screens, with social networking features merged into a common inbox. The company has also integrated Flash directly into the software, with apps available from a central portal that will be accessible from 50 different countries.

Samsung has scheduled a Mobile Live promotional event in Germany at the end of the month. The Wave will be featured alongside live music, jet-ski stunt shows, DJs, and other entertainment.

Samsung has yet to announce additional launch information for additional markets outside of Europe. [via Samsung Hub]
