Froyo coming to company's latest Android phones

Following Google's official unveiling of Android 2.2, HTC has confirmed that many its smartphones will receive the update before the end of the year. The promise primarily extends to HTC's Android handsets released this year, such as the Desire and Droid Incredible, as well as the Evo 4G, MyTouch slide, and other upcoming models.

"We are working closely with Google and our other partners to ensure we have the earliest access to everything we need to provide a complete and solid Sense experience on Froyo," the company said in a statement.

All Android 2.2 updates are expected to be ready by the second half of the year, although the company admits that it is too early to disclose specific schedules. [Android Central]
