Nokia N900 gets version 1.2 software tomorrow

Nokia has revealed that a new software update will be out on Wednesday for its N900 flagship smartphone. Version 1.2 of the Maemo firmware brings with it improved communication that lets users accept or decline an event invitation right from a user's inbox. There is also the ability to hold Facebook IM chats and support for video calling. A simple but effective update brings the ability to surf the web in landscape mode.

The menu system is now customizable, while Ovi Maps have an improved user interface that is said to make it easier to find destinations. New games that include Jurassic 3D Rollercoaster, Zen-bound, Angry Birds (level pack), Sygic, Kroll, Weatherbug and GoGadget will also be available at the Ovi Store on Thursday.

Nokia also said it won't bring MeeGo, developed in conjunction with Intel, to the N900.
