DJ mixing game with have remixing, rhythm play

Numark has previewed its new iPad game, Scratch: The Ultimate DJ. The game combines free-form DJ tricks and rhythm gameplay, using songs from numerous hip-hop artists. Numark is using technology from partners Alesis, Akai and ION. It allows players to remix songs using their own beats and effects, along with an external scratch deck.

The game's turntable is based on Numark's professional products, while the beat pads are drawn from Akai's MPC. Scratch will offer dual turntable options, with each working concurrently.

The game is a universal app that will work on the iPad or iPhone. It is expected later in the year, although the company has yet to announce pricing.
