HP outs HD monitors with built-in speakers
HP has outed four new monitors on Wednesday, including the 20-inch 2010i, 21.5-inch 2210m, 2310m and 27-inch 2710m. The smallest has a resolution of 1600x900, while the other three have 1920x1080 pixels at their disposal. The 20-inch model also has a 1,000:1 contract ratio, 5ms response time and 250 nits of brightness. Connections include VGA, HDCP-compliant DVI-D and audio inputs.
The 2210m is slightly faster and brighter, at 2.5ms and 300 nits, respectively. Connections are the same, save for the addition of an HDMI input. The 2310m is largely the same, but has a 3ms response time and a VESA-compatible mount. The 2710m has 400 nits of brightness, a 2.5ms response time and 92-percent color gamut coverage, with all other shared with the smaller monitors.
All four are Energy Star 5.0-qualified and TCO 5.0-certified. They use two-lamp panels rather than four to reduce their power use and the amount of toxic chemicals.
The 2010i costs $180, the 2210m $220 and the 2310m $260, with all three available on Wednesday. The 2710m will be priced when it launches on Thursday.

Speakers
I hope these new models have better speakers than the outgoing models. I have dual 23" w2338h at work which I wanted for the integrated speakers hoping to clean up my desk a bit but they sound like tin cans.
