Altek teases 14-megapixel Leo smartphone

Taiwan's Altek has released teaser images of an upcoming smartphone that will sport a 14-megapixel camera, the highest in the industry. The 3.5G handset is dubbed Leo, and will sport a touchscreen, though little other details were revealed. The camera has a 3X optical zoom and will be capable of shooting 720p HD videos.

Altek does reveal that a Wi-Fi radio will be present in the device, allowing users to upload their videos without first offloading it onto a computer. The camera integrates both regular LED and high-power Xenon flashes. The key layout seen in the photo suggests the phone will run on Android.

The Leo will be launched at the CommunicAsia show in Singapore in June, where prices, ship dates and other details are expected to be revealed.
