Smartphone to add Wi-Fi and Office suite

HTC is reportedly preparing an updated version of its Smart handset, an unnamed source has told Cellpassion. The revision, expected to be named Smart2, is said to maintain the same overall form, but with the addition of Wi-Fi connectivity and Office applications for creating and editing documents.

Specs for the updated device remain unclear, however the current Smart integrates a 2.8-inch touchscreen and 528MHz processor. The handset is based on Qualcomm's Brew MP operating system, which focuses on customization and social networking feeds.

The Smart2 is expected to ship before the end of the year for under 10,000 Rs. (~$210 USD).
