Tablet specs still unclear

HTC appears to be working on a tablet geared specifically for female users, as hinted by HTC vice president of European operations Dr. Florian Seiche. The executive cited an in-house study that suggests many women would like to utilize a tablet to keep in touch with friends while watching television.

"Our study found women social networking while watching television was a likely use for tablets," Seiche said at the Open Mobile Summit in London.

The company did not provide any specific details regarding its tablet plans, however the executive did mention the Android OS in other comments. A separate report suggests the company is working on a high-end Android tablet featuring 1080p video recording and 5.1-channel audio output. [via The Inquirer]
