Images show new form, Android OS

Meizu CEO Huang Zhang, posting under the forum name J. Wong, has posted several low-quality images teasing the company's upcoming M9 handset. The blurry interface picture does not clearly show the phone facade, however it does appear to confirm the company's switch to Android for its iPhone clones.

An image of the backside shows rounded surfaces, although the contours appear to be slightly different than rendered images released last month. The solid black cover offers a matte finish and Meizu M9 branding.

Despite the emergence of new images, Meizu has yet to announce additional details such as pricing or a launch time-frame. The handset is nonetheless expected to get Android 2.1, a 1GHz CPU, 5-megapixel camera, and support for all of the 3G formats utilized on the local Chinese networks. [via Meizu Me]
