Sony working on PlayTV 2, 3D games due June 10

Sony is working on a sequel to its PlayTV PVR and tuner add-on for the PS3, which has yet to make it to the North American market. Senior producer at Sony's Cambridge Studio Mark Green confirmed this info, saying Sony is still working on PlayTV and PlayTV 2. At the same time, Sony will release four 3D games or demos on June 10, the company announced.

The first 3D games are based on existing ones already available from the PlayStation Network, and include Wipeout HD, Star Strike HD and Mr. Pain. The first two will be free for existing owners of the 2D titles, but the last will require purchasing an upgrade pack for 300 yen (about $3.30) for the 3D version.

A 3D version of the MotorStorm 2 demo will also be available, initially only with the purchase of 3D Bravia HDTV sets, which also includes the three titles mentioned above. Eventually, the 3D racer demo will be available through other channels, likely the PlayStation Store. [via SlashGear]
