Barnes & Noble sending $50 gift card with Nooks
Barnes & Noble, the maker of the Nook e-book reader, today a special promotion that will give buyers a free $50 gift card that can be used for Nook e-books or accessories. The card applies to Nooks purchased at Barnes & Noble and Best Buy stores, both online and in-store. For online orders, the card will ship in the same package as the $259 Nook itself.
The promo expires July 3rd.
While pitched as coinciding with Father's Day, the deal appears just as the Kindle has expanded its retail reach to all Target stores and as the iPad has proven successful enough to reach two million sales in as many months. Claims exist that more Nooks are enroute, and the deal could help keep sales active until the new model.
