Companies sued over roaming voicemail service

AT&T and T-Mobile have been targeted in a patent-infringement lawsuit filed by a Swiss company, Starhome. The legal filing is based on technology protected by two patents issued in 2005 and 2007, each relating to services that allow customers to access their voicemail without using international calling codes.

Starhome is asking the court to stop AT&T and T-Mobile from using the patented technology in international roaming services. The company is also seeking an unspecified amount of monetary compensation for the alleged damages.

The accused companies have yet to publicly respond to the lawsuit. [via Reuters]
