LG brings first phones to T-Mobile
LG and T-Mobile USA on Wednesday revealed a first-time partnership that will see the former's handsets reach the carrier. The first three handsets include the Sentio, dLite and GS170. The Sentio as the most advanced has a 3-inch touchscreen and a virtual QWERTY keyboard, and its home screen can be customized with widgets.
The Sentio also gets T-Mobile's web2go web browsing service, GPS with location-based services and a 3-megapixel camera. It can play MP3 files and has Visual Voicemail support.
The dLite flip phone has an exterior LED display that will display alerts, caller IDs, time and date. It also has edge-lit LEDs that can be customized. The inside screen is 2.8 inches in size, and the handset can be had in pink or blue. There is personal e-mail and Visual Voicemail support, and both the dLite and Sentio have T-Mobile's Social Buzz app that acts as a shortcut to users' social networking sites.
The GS170 is basic and most significantly carries a color display, a VGA camera, and Bluetooth 2.1. It supports MP3 ringtones and has a one-touch speakerphone.
The three new phones are expected to be available this summer at T-Mobile, though prices and ship dates haven't been set.
