Radio Shack opens at 6AM for Evo 4G release
On Wednesday Radio Shack said it would open 1,600 of its retail stores across the country at 6AM on June 4th to accommodate pre-orders for the HTC Evo 4G. As a reward, the early buyers will get a 15 percent discount on all accessories for the handset purchased on June 4th. Those who didn't pre-order the phone but want it can still buy it on the same day, as Radio Shack said it ordered extra stock.
Some Radio Shack locations will have an Evo 4G Experience Center where staffers will show the 4G Android smartphone's capabilities to customers or potential buyers during their visit.
All of the retailers carrying the Evo 4G are offering special incentives for its launch, which promises to be the biggest in Sprint's history. Sprint has 8AM openings planned, while Best Buy promises to provide the rebate as an immediate discount rather than Sprint's mail-in deal.
