Slip corroborates two-colored iPhone design
Doubts about color options for the next iPhone were erased on Wednesday as part shots showed a model with a white back. Following shots of the version with a white front, the images match the design of more common black prototypes. The front and back cameras as well as the flash are still intact.
The only apparent difference PowerBook Medic discovered was the lack of any clear model indicators on the example. It has no listed capacity and lists the model as XXXXX. While the repair shop speculates that the new design might not be ready for WWDC, the white iPhone frame is more likely an example from an earlier prototype. Newer black models have shown capacities, and the well-known American leak was of a late-stage prototype that makes it unlikely Apple would have switched production in mid-cycle.
Apple has routinely had black and white iPhones since 2008, but it has always used a black front.
