Plextor shows new home media products at Computex

Plextor brought two new products to Computex, with its PlexMedia networked media player and an attachable external Blu-ray drive. The former is the first to allow connecting the Blu-ray drive, allowing users to view content on Blu-ray discs and watch movies. The drive can also be carried and connected to desktop or notebook PCs.

The external Blu-ray drive ships at the end of August for $150, with the PlexMedia arriving early in September for $190.

Plextor also brought a 12X Blu-ray writer and 12X BD Combo drive to Computex, as well as portable USB 3.0 and eSATA hard drives. Two new NAS devices were showed off as well, with a two- and four-bay version. The company made a further promise to bring out SLC and MLC (single- and multi-level cell) SSD drives later in 2010.
