Verizon spreads V CAST to Android for first time

Verizon spokesman Sheldon Jones today teased that the cell carrier's V CAST video service would reach its Android phones on June 7. The approach will give the Droid Incredible and fellow Droid phones on-demand TV shows and other video content over 3G. Jones didn't say how closely it would match the existing lineup for other phones.

If much like the existing service, it would include major shows from Fox, NBC, Nickelodeon and other networks with a subscription rate varying based on how much it's used. Short-term users can pay $3 per day, but a month's worth of use costs $10. Videos normally don't count against the regular data transfer caps.
