HTC Aria to be renamed Liberty or Intruder

HTC Aria to arrive at AT&T under different name

The upcoming HTC Aria handset, which is expected to be the first HTC-made Android handset at AT&T, may get a name change to either Liberty or Intruder, as hinted at by two leaked images. The first image comes from Android Central and reveals a near carbon copy of what we've seen of the Aria, but is called Liberty.

The two will otherwise share displays with a resolution of 320x480 and run on Android, according to their user agent profiles.

Another possibility is that the Aria will launch as the Intruder. This is indicated by a leaked AT&T inventory screen, with a price set at $129 with a contract. This is less likely, as the Liberty could be a second Android phone from AT&T.

A report from late last year revealed the Liberty name is coming as part of HTC's upcoming handsets, with no mention of either Aria or Intruder, so the final name remains to be seen. It is also possible the same handset will have two or more names, depending on the region in which it's sold. [via UnwiredView]
