Notion Ink Adam sees further backlog
Notion Ink has let slip that its Adam tablet may not reach some countries until November. The startup's CEO Rohan Shravan has explained that the Android tablet would ideally ship by the end of July but that he has to "fight every day" with investors that want to launch in some areas closer to American Thanksgiving. A launch date is due soon, Shravan said, but whether it will meet the target wasn't indicated.
The 10-inch slate was supposed to be one of the flagships of both Android as a tablet platform and NVIDIA's dual-core Tegra, but it and fellow designs built on both platforms have yet to ship even after being promised for as soon as the spring.
What sparked the delays hasn't always been made apparent but has left the iPad virtually uncontested in the category. A handful of devices, like the ICD Ultra, are waiting on the unveiling of 4G networks like Verizon's before they can appear. NVIDIA has similarly implied that Android may need to adapt to tablets for an ideal fit where iOS is already formatted for the iPad's larger screen. [via SlashGear]

More Android vaporware...
Build the hardware and then slap on the Android. A well-thought out strategy for building iPad killers. I have a feeling that this firm is going to have money problems like the JooJoo had. Especially if they have only the geeks as buyers of their product. Building tablets on a shoestring budget isn't going to win the hearts of consumers.
