BlackBerry 9670 hands-on caught on video

A couple of video reviews of the upcoming BlackBerry 9670 clamshell phone with OS 6.0 have surfaced, thanks to Driphter. The software review reveals that the home screen is somewhat changed, with eight customizable icons. There is a search bar that lets users find local messages or files. The interface is largely the same as the previous OS.

The OS 6.0 has touchscreen sensitivity settings, though it is not available in this application, as the 9670 relies on the hardware QWERTY keyboard and touchpad rather than a touchscreen interface. The 9670 likely has 512MB of onboard storage.

The media player is somewhat different, with a new interface that lets users fast forward using the touchpad. The software will also find other songs by the same artist.

The videos reveal that the CDMA phone itself has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as a GPS sensor. Digging through the settings reveals that Sprint is a pre-set network, though which carrier the 9670 will be sold through has not yet been revealed.

While launch dates remain a secret, the very existence of a working prototype hints at the near release of the BlackBerry 9670.
