Google Maps Navigation out for Canada, Europe
Google on Wednesday said that Google Maps Navigation version 4.2 has now launched and brings support to more countries. The Internet-based navigation service is now available in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland. It needs Android 1.6 or newer.
At the same time, users with Android 2.0 or newer devices can switch to French, German, Italian and Spanish languages for the navigation instructions. The app also has search by voice capability and a Street View to ensure key turnoffs and exits at intersection or roundabouts aren't missed.
Google Maps version 4.2, which has Google Maps Navigation in beta, is available as an update in the Android Market.
