Samsung brings 3D, pico projector to InfoComm
Samsung showed its upcoming A800 3D home projector and SP-H03 pico projector in the US for the first time. The 1080p A800 3D uses Samsung's Active 3D technology and can reproduce broadcast-standard colors. In spite of the added dimension, it's rated at 1,000 lumens of brightness and has a 10,000:1 contrast ratio.
The projector otherwise gets a zoom lens and can throw up images between 40 and 250 inches in size. Its lamp is said to last 1,500 hours in high brightness mode or 2,000 hours in eco mode.
The other new-for-North America model, the SP-H03 Pico Projector, weighs six ounces and is sized at 2.5 inches in every dimension. Its native resolution is 854x480, and images can be sized at between 9 and 80 inches, but a 30-inch size is recommended. It's rated at just 30 lumens while the LED light can last more than 30,000 hours. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers the unit when away from a wall. There is 1GB of internal memory, which can be expanded thanks to both a USB port and a microSD slot.
Despite the demonstrations, Samsung has not priced or dated the A800 3D or SP-H03 projectors for North America.
