Logitech C910, C510, C310, C270 webcams unveiled
Logitech revamped nearly all its webcam line today with a much larger shift towards HD than in the past. The HD Pro Webcam C910 leads the way and records, but doesn't stream, video in 1080p. It can handle full video chats in 720p as well as 10-megapixel stills, and is rare in carrying distinct stereo microphones to improve the audio quality.
Notebooks get the HD Webcam C510. Although limited to 720p and a single mic for any video and eight-megapixel stills, it folds up for easier travel than a typical webcam.
Two relatively inexpensive 720p webcams are also coming, the HD Webcam C310 and the HD Webcam C270. The C270 doesn't have full details, but the C310 is mostly capped by its five-megapixel still photo ability and a relatively fixed stand.
To complement all the webcams, Logitech has posted Vid HD, an upgraded version of its ultra-simple chat app. It now supports 720p video and works with both Macs and Windows PCs as long as the webcam itself can handle the higher resolution.
The C270, C310 and C510 will ship first, arriving this month at prices of $40, $50 and $60. Logitech has the noticeably more advanced C910 arriving only in August and will cost $100.

Windows only
Their site says Windows only, so why was this article linked from MacNN? This product is not so significant that the Mac user base should be notified of its existence. If it was a revolutionary product, or something that couldn't be done on a Mac, then I could see it as having news value to Mac users, but this is just another web cam.
