ThinkCentre M90z brings 23in touchscreen, Core i5

Lenovo on Thursday took the covers from its first large all-in-one desktop for pros. At 23 inches, the ThinkCentre M90z has both more workable area than the 19-inch A70z with a 1080p, multi-touch screen but has room for faster components. It carries either Core i3 or i5 processors and has the option of an SSD for storage.

Full details aren't available for the M90z, but at $899 it will start with a Core i3, a conventional rotating hard drive and a DVD player. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are strictly optional on teh system, which ships immediately through some channels and will be available online later in June.

Lenovo is also adding a pair of conventional but small desktops aimed first at stock traders and others that need a small but possibly fast desktop workstation. The ThinkCentre C20 and C20x are up to 46 percent smaller than their rivals at Dell and HP but still have high-end hardware. Either uses the new Xeon 5600 and dedicated graphics up to dual Quadro FX 4800 boards. On the C20x, users have up to 12 memory slots that can fit as much as 96GB of RAM using current memory.

Both of the C20 series desktops will be ready online in mid-June for $1,200.

Simultaneously, Lenovo is launching a pair of ThinkVision screens. The 21.5-inch L2230x is unusually notebook-oriented and has its own port replicator system: users can not only attach multiple USB peripherals but an Ethernet cable as well. While it goes without this feature, the L2321x Wide is larger at 23 inches and has a dual-image feature that shows two views at once through simultaneous DisplayPort and VGA links.

Of all the launches, the ThinkVision LCDs ship last and will be ready by mid-July at prices of $260 for the L2230x and $280 for the L2321x Wide.
