A mysterious power pack for the iPhone surfacing today would be the first to recreate a phone's onscreen battery status in real life. Essential TPE's The Icon mimics the look of the iPhone's lock screen battery image and loses green light as the iPhone takes power. It promises to add as much as three hours of 3G talk time and 5.5 more hours of Wi-Fi browsing.
Whether it looks and works as described isn't known: Essential TPE uses renders for the images and doesn't list a price. Mainland China, Hong Kong and Singapore should carry it, but availability isn't certain. Ship dates and other details are also absent. [via Wired]
