Long-awaited Sigma SD15 DSLR priced, dated

The long-delayed Sigma SD15 DSLR has finally received a release date and a final price. It will launch on June 25 in Europe and should cost the equivalent of $1,443. It will retain its 14-megapixel Foveon X3 direct image sensor that includes three 4.7-megapixel layers that each capture red, green and blue light.

The camera was first unveiled in September of 2008. It otherwise sports a 3-inch LCD, a 77-segment AE sensor and an Analog Front End. Images are saved to SD card. It will shoot 3FPS burst RAW images for up to 21 shots and touts aa high dynamic range mode that brackets five different shots together.

It's really a 4.7MP camera despite Sigma's attempts to redefine mathematics.

Their products are not only c***, but proprietary. And Foveon technology has shown itself to be garbage - unless you're fond of Homer Simpson skin tones.

Buy a real camera from a company that makes quality products using mainstream technology.
