Droid X officially coming soon to Verizon

Verizon gave away its plans today as the upcoming Droid X has already surfaced on the carrier's Droid page. The handset was expected to make an official debut next week and begin shipping on July 19. The page does confirm a 4.3-inch screen and claims that it has a 720p resolution, although that's a likely reference to video capture and not the actual display.

The official unveiling event is due for June 23, which could also bring with it news of the Droid 2 slider. The Droid X, also called Droid Touch on the Verizon site, will otherwise sport a 1GHz OMAP processor, an eight-megapixel camera with HD video recording and an HDMI output. Android 2.1 will be the OS, but with Adobe at the event it may either use Android 2.2 or an interim update that supports Flash. [via AndroidGuys]

Now i want the droid 2. TWICE as fast as the Nexus One in benchmarks on Android 2.1. Plus better keyboard than original droid. Looking forward to it!! http://briefmobile.com/droid-2-hands-on-video

Sucks for Verizoners who bought the Incredible.
