Intel ship1.8GHz D525, D425 Atom desktop chips

Intel on Monday announced that its new Atom D525 and D425 CPUs have now began shipping in entry-level desktop PCs. The dual-core D525 and single-core D425 both share a clock speed of 1.8GHz and support DDR3 RAM. They are meant for low-power nettops and entry-level desktop PCs thanks to their 13W and 10W peak power draws, respectively.

Each chip sits on Intel's NM10 Express Chipset and is based on a 45 nanometer architecture. The D425 has 512KB of L2 cache, with the D525 getting 1MB. Either supports up to 4GB of RAM. When whole computers running the chips are released remains to be seen, but they are expected soon.
