Wordwide launch still promised by March
Nintendo has admitted that the initial 3DS design, previewed last week at E3, is still open for further changes. Reggis Fils-Aime, head of Nintendo's American division, claims that many of the company's engineers were present at E3 to consider feedback that could lead to adjustments before the device formally arrives on the market.
"We have an army of Nintendo representatives out on our show floor talking to attendees, getting reactions to everything in the device: the depth slider, the buttons, the sliding pad that is, essentially, an analog-type stick," Fils-Aime told IndustryGamers in an interview. "These are things that we’re looking to get reaction to, including the overall button placement. When we get all that feedback, then we’ll finalize the design."
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the final form, Nintendo has not backed down from its promise of a worldwide launch by the end of March. The company has yet to commit to an exact date or pricing in different regions.
