Android 2.0 still not planned

T-Mobile has finally released Android 1.6 for Samsung Behold II handsets, with the software currently rolling out as an over-the-air update. Users will now be able to take advantage of Google Maps navigation, Voice Search, Swype keyboard, the quick search box, and several other improvements.

The release comes nearly a month after T-Mobile frustrated users by declaring that the Behold II will not receive further upgrades beyond Android 1.6. The company will not released Android 2.0 or any of the later builds.

Owners of other Samsung Android handsets face similar upgradeability problems. Although the Galaxy Spica will be upgraded to Android 2.1, the original Galaxy is expected to remain tied to Android 1.5.
