HTC Mozart with WP7 due in Australia in October

What is said to be the first HTC-made handset running on Windows Phone 7 has been leaked on a forum. If the leak proves true, the handset would also be the least expensive with WP7, as the target price seems to be set at $49 AUD, as the image seems to have originated from Australian provider Telstra. The image also shows that the device, called Mozart, is meant to go on sale in October.

While the image is very clearly an HTC Desire with a Windows Phone 7 home screen overlaid on top of it, it may just be a placeholder for the actual handset. In North America, Windows Phone 7 devices aren't likely to make their debut until the end of the year, though this hasn't been confirmed and an October release is also likely.

The leak originated by a historically reliable source, forum member Conflipper.

Too many buttons to be a WP7 device

The only hiccup I have with the pic of the device being a WP7 device, is it looks like it has more than three buttons which is one of the first No-Nos for WP7 devices.
