Roku, Clearcleap to offer on-demand TV with cable

Streaming set top box maker Roku and Web-based TV platform creator Clearleap said on Thursday they will partner up to offer cable companies the option to bring their own video on demand services. The solution would let customers order Internet content, with the billing occurring on the subscribers' monthly TV bill. While cable companies that offer digital cable boxes already offer a similar model, this would allow ones that don't to bring the service over IP.

Roku and Clearleap are currently performings tests of the feature over the course of the next six months, with a limited commercial deployment expected before year's end with the help of an unnamed cable TV provider. Approximate pricing for this service, if it has any premium, remains unknown.

    This is too much

The game's already over for Roku. I have a program from seetvpc.com, and connected my laptop to my TV with an S-cable. I don't have Cable TV because of this. Nothing new and revolutionary.

    High Quality Content

Obviously, you do not own a Roku or similar set-top box device, otherwise you would appreciate the high quality of streamed media or content as opposed to an S-cable. Roku is genius and contrary to your beliefs it in very revolutionary. Are you able to access unlimited Netflix for $9.00 month? or affinity channels, Amazon, MLB.com, Flickstream, or PinkTv with your program? Just wondering. Not to mention there is no monthly fee for the Roku box, just the initial purchase (which is very affordable at less than $70.)

In addition, the Roku box offers a variety of free features, such as Pandora, Facebook and several more. The channels you do pay for are very reasonable and subscribers get to choose the content they want, instead of paying for a bunch of "c***" they are uninterested in.

The game is not over for Roku, in fact it is just beginning.

    Bottom line, Love my Roku.
