Nokia N9 tips up running Symbian rather than MeeGo
Nokia's rumored N9 slider has shown in a photo set that at once appears to confirm it but calls into question the choice of OS. Despite Nokia saying it would switch to MeeGo for Nseries phones after the N8, the device on show at Negri is clearly running Symbian. The device may be using Symbian as a placeholder or, through a "C0" badge, could be a Cseries phone using an older platform.
The touchscreen phone appears to be targeted at the same audience as the N8, since it has what's likely the same eight-megapixel camera and much of the design aesthetic. It may also be targeted directly at an American or Canadian carrier, as it has both the 850MHz and 1,900MHz HSPA bands needed for 3G on AT&T the top three Canadian providers.
A fuller exploration of the phone is due in coming days and could give a better idea of the device's capabilities. [via Engadget]

Likley the E7
This prototype device has a physical home/menu button, like the N8 candy bar variant about to launch in September, and is using Symbian^3. The N9/Meego variant, recently leaked, also utilizes the patented Nokia tilt/slide QWERTY, but is slightly larger with a bigger AMOLED and no physical home/menu button. Given the C7 has all but confirmed Symbian^3 as its OS, it seems quite plausible that the E7 will as well. Given the E7 should be a premier business device, the above QWERTY form factor and other hi end business oriented attributes of this prototype would suggest its the E7.
