US Cellular to get BlackBerry 9670 this year

Wireless provider US Cellular briefly mentioned in a Thursday press release that it will carry a BlackBerry flip smartphone with full QWERTY keyboard beginning later this year. This can only be the leaked upcoming BlackBerry 9670. The handset is expected to arrive at Verizon first, with US Cellular getting it a few months later.

Verizon itself has not made any announcement regarding this handset, however, so there is the very slim chance that US Cellular will get the device first.

The 9670 would mark several firsts for BlackBerry handsets, including being the first flip with a full hardware QWERTY keyboard and a 480x360 resolution screen. It would also be the first to sport a five-megapixel camera and one of the first to run BlackBerry OS 6.0. It would run on CDMA networks and get Wi-Fi. [via CrackBerry]
