Infinitec Infinite USB finally gets release date

Infinitec today set down a fixed ship date for the Infinite USB Memory Drive. The networked drive should go up for pre-orders on August 1 and will ship on August 31 for $129. Infinitec hasn't explained the delay.

The drive earns its name through its Wi-Fi access, which through companion apps on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows PCs can get access to local storage and media streaming wherever it's plugged in. To mark the launch, Infinitec has shown off the feature working on an Xbox 360, which can use the software to share movies and other media. It can't double as Xbox-formatted storage for games and profiles but will work on the PS3 and other non-computer devices with USB support.
