Pantech Jest now available online at Verizon

Verizon began shipping the Pantech Jest handset on Tuesday. The feature phone has a 2.6-inch color screen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Navigation is done using an optical directional key, and users can send out IM and chat messages.

A 2-megapixel camera is integrated into the Jest, and can record videos. It can connect to Facebook, MySpace and Twitter networks. Verizon's VZ Navigator will provide map and turn-by-turn directions, while V CAST Music with Rhapsody is a subscription-based digital music service. The Jest has stereo Bluetooth support for pairing with compatible devices.

The Jest is available online now for free thanks to an online promotion. It arrives in stores on July 5 for $70 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a two-year contract.
