Peripheral expected to compete with Magic Mouse

Microsoft may be readying a new peripheral, the Arc Touch Mouse, according to several listings that have appeared in online stores for European retailers. Further details remain slim, including any similarities with the company's Arc Mouse which arrived in 2008 with a design integrating a fold-out hand support.

The new name suggests the mouse could be designed as an answer to Apple's Magic Mouse. Microsoft has yet to offer its own mouse with support for multi-touch gestures in Windows 7. A launch date for the Arc Touch remains unclear, however the inventory listings paired the mouse with a price close to $70 US. [via istartedsomething]
