NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 to cost $199?

The upcoming GeForce GTX 460 graphics chipset from NVIDIA may be priced as low as $199, according to a new report originating from Turkish website DonanimHaber. The price slash would come with a version carrying 768MB of RAM, while the 1GB version would cost $229, the sources claimed. Previously, the cards were expected to cost $230 and $250, respectively.

The card is also believed to launch on July 12, though this isn't official.

The 768MB GTX 460 should perform better than its closest competitor, the $230 ATI Radeon HD 5830, despite its higher 1GB of RAM. The 1GB GTX 460, likely to be called the GeForce GTX 465, may cost the same but could be much more capable than the ATI offering based on its specs, though early tests have hinted otherwise.

If the rumors prove true, the base GTX 460 will be the first DirectX 11-capable graphics card from NVIDIA on the market priced at under $200. [via VR-Zone]

    Need more from Nvidia cards

I am not happy with the connectivity options that Fermi or any other nvidia Dx11 card has provided with. I want to see and very happy with the connection type which is provided by ATI like 1 HDMI port (not mini as dont want to purchase another high end cable for myself), 1 DVI port & 1 Display port and all three are capable of playing content protected files. Why nvidia wants us to buy what they want to offer and not what we want in it?
