Devices listed from major manufacturers
An alleged roadmap for UK cellphone launches has surfaced, showing a variety of upcoming handsets from many of the major manufacturers. The lineup, posted by Omio, lists several devices slated for July, including Nokia's E5-00 messaging phone, Samsung's Android-based i5500 handset, and the Walkman-branded W20 from Sony Ericsson.
The BlackBerry Curve 9300, which recently surfaced in several other leaks, is said to be on its way to UK customers by the end of August. HTC's Android-based Vision handset is expected to arrive in October, alongside the company's Ace handset which has yet to emerge in earlier reports.
The UK leak suggests HTC will quickly follow-up the Android offerings with the 'Gold,' a Windows Phone 7 smartphone that is likely a UK variant of the Mondrian. The device appears to be an improvement over HTC's 'Mozart,' another WP7 project that was shown in an Australian leak.
Aside from Nokia's X6 and X2 cellphones, the company is said to be readying the E7 based on Symbian ^3. Details are still unclear, although the device is expected to resemble the N8 with an AMOLED display, full QWERTY keyboard, and a tilting touchscreen. The end of the year is also claimed to bring the Samsung i8700 Cetus, another handset that remains shrouded in mystery.
Pricing and carrier information for most of the devices has yet to be officially announced.
