Motorola Charm arriving in stores, spotted

The upcoming Motorola Charm due at T-Mobile has been spotted in the flesh, thanks to an unnamed source. Reported by TMoNews, the photo confirms a candybar form factor with a full QWERTY keyboard, but whether it will run on the believed Android 2.1 OS has neither been confirmed nor denied. A rear touchpad like the one on the Backflip is said to exist here as well, however.

Otherwise, the screen size of the Charm is somewhere around three inches in size. Another photo sent in by the tipster shows that T-Mobile stores are receiving envelopes marked Motorola Basil Project, with Basil believed to be the code name for the device.

According to a previous leak, the Charm will cost $270 by itself or $75 with a $75 mail-in rebate and on a two-year contract. A launch date remains unknown, however.
