Tech preview scheduled for fall

Adobe is preparing to revamp its Flash Player with 3D graphics capabilities, which will be previewed later in the year. The company has yet to provide any specific details, although Flash Player product manager Thibault Imbert boasts in a blog post that the unveiling "is going to be big."

"If you are into 3d development for games, augmented reality or just interactive stuff like websites, you just can't miss the session entitled Flash Player 3D future," says Imbert.

Flash Player engineer Sebastian Marketsmueller will host the event, which will be held on the last day of the company's Max 2010 event in October.

Hey, morons, instead of pumping 3D into your terrible plug-in, hire better programmers and speed it up.

    What is taking so long

They should have started doing this 3 years ago. What is taking them so long? When Papervision3d first came out, it should have sent an immediate signal that there is a need for this type of technology. I hope they make it pretty powerful almost to the point of a game engine.

    It's boring

And 64 bits version? And video acceleration for Linux? I think they must do the essential things, and later optional things... Closed source sucks.
