Toshiba rolls out Canvio drives for Mac users

Toshiba adds first Mac-specific external drives
Toshiba branched on Tuesday through the addition of some of its first Mac-oriented external drives. Canvio for Mac drives come formatted for Apple's systems but also preloaded with Mac-specific backup software. NTI Shadow 5 can handle both typical backup as well as sync certain folders and apply 256-bit encryption on secure info.
The 2.5-inch portable disks come in 500GB, 750GB and 1TB capacities, all of which depend on USB 2.0 to attach to a Mac. Toshiba prices the Canvios at $120, $140 and $190 respectively, and says all three should be available today.
