New Xbox 360 Arcade tips up at Amazon Germany

Slim Xbox 360 may have been seen early
Microsoft's promise of a slim Xbox 360 Arcade may have shown its first signs of coming true as Amazon Germany has posted a listing for a previously unknown system. The bundle would have 4GB of memory, or much more than the 512MB usually found in an Arcade; whether it involves a USB drive or internal memory isn't known. It's implied, though not stated, that it would have one or more games attached.
The system as shown would cost 149 euros ($190) and hints that a similar American version would cost significantly under $199, as US prices don't include tax. Amazon has the console available on August 20 and would be consistent with Microsoft's plans to provide a slimmed-down Arcade model by the fall.
A new Arcade model is considered virtually mandatory, as the modern Xbox 360 is limited to a single $299 model. The gap below is currently being filled only by old, discontinued models that will run out of stock. As Kinect should cost $150, a $199 or even $149 Xbox would reduce the perceived cost for those new to the Xbox. [via Joystiq]
