Buffalo outs 1080p home media player in Japan

Japanese electronics maker Buffalo has introduced its LT-V100 Link Theater media player. It can stream or play local 1080p video content from a USB-attached drive. The player has DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio support, while supported video formats include MPEG-2, MPEG-4 SP/ASP, and H.264 (AVC).

Most common photo formats are supported as well, as are audio formats that range as far as OGG. Any of these types of files can be accessed from another connected NAS or network-connected computer. Available in Japan only thus far, the LV-100 is priced at the equivalent of $130.
