Includes biometric authentication and encryption

Apricorn has added to its line of Aegis Bio encrypted portable hard drives, with the release of a new 640GB version. One of the main features of Aegis Bio is the biometric authentication and encryption, which allows users to gain access to their files with the swipe of a finger. Additionally, the drive allows users to store a variety of information ranging from media to important documents, and to transfer files at speeds up to 480Mbps via the integrated USB cable.

Other features include cross-platform support, and an integrated password bank that can store usernames and passwords used for web-based forms and applications.

With this new addition the range of available hard drives has been extended from 250GB to 640GB, and includes a 320GB and 500GB model. Prices for these hard drives start at $120, and end at $160 for the Aegis Bio 640GB drive. All models can ordered from the company’s website and include a three year warranty.
