Wireless version set to ship next week

Syabas has begun shipping its PopBox media hub slightly ahead of its revised schedule, as the Ethernet version is currently in-stock at retailers such as Amazon.com. Customers will still have to wait until next week for the Wi-Fi variant, however.

The device will ship with a variety of 'Popapps' including Picasa, YouTube, Photobucket, and Twitter. Users will also be able to quickly access podcasts from Next New Networks and Revision3. The hardware will support most of the same formats of the earlier Popcorn Hour set-top box, along with several newer standards including 3D content based on RealD.

The Ethernet PopBox currently sells for $130, while the Wi-Fi model will begin shipping on July 19 for $150.
