Xbox 360 dash may get WP7-like tweaks

A new set of leaks has pointed to Microsoft modifying the Xbox 360's Dashboard. The new design appears a slight modification of the New Xbox Experience from last fall but with a flat, more Windows Phone 7-like layout that brings in smaller fonts and a more refined look. Microsoft had shown similar images when previewing its Family Center feature but hadn't said it would be part of a larger design, like that seen by France's Logic-Sunrise.

Not much else is known about what updates would come about, although the Kinect Hub and associated features like video chat will almost certainly large parts. Microsoft had promised Family Center for November and may have a sweeping Dashboard update that not only adds Kinect support but a slew of other changes.

The company has regularly had major firmware updates to the Xbox in the fall with minor updates in the spring.
