BlackBerry smartphones get access to V Cast Apps

Verizon announced on Monday that its V Cast Apps mobile store can now be accessed on some BlackBerry smartphones for the first time. The store lets users purchase apps from Verizon itself with billing on their normal phone bills. V Cast Apps so far works on the Bold 9650, Storm2, Curve 8530 and Tour 9630. It will soon arrive for the original Storm and Curve 8330 as well.

All compatible BlackBerry phones on Verizon's network running the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) will get an icon that link to V Cast Apps. Business customers using BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) will have to contact specialists on how to access V Cast Apps. A block feature is also available through My Verizon that will remove access to the store.
